This site collects very little, and nothing is sold.

Analytics

This site uses Google Tag Manager to see how it is used. Tags loaded through it can set cookies and send usage details, such as the pages you visit, to Google. I do not use it to identify you.

Contact

The Contact button copies my email address to your clipboard. Nothing is sent to me until you write.

Loops

If you choose to add a loop to the gallery, I store its title, the name you give (a first name or initials), the pattern and the date. A loop only shows publicly once I have approved it. Loops you only play or share by link are not stored. Each link carries the pattern in its address.

To allow one loop per person per day, the server makes a short code from your IP address, the date and a secret, then keeps only that code. Your IP address itself is never stored, and the code cannot be turned back into it.

Ask

The Ask page answers questions about my work from what I have published on this site. At the moment it does this on this site’s own server, and what you type is not sent to any outside AI service. I do not keep your conversation: it stays in your browser for the length of your visit and goes when you close the tab.

If I ever switch on an AI service to write the answers, I will say so here first, because what you type would then go to that service. If I switch on question saving, I will keep only the words of each question, with no IP address or identifier, so I can see what people want to know.
